Having served with Compassion Canada since 1983, Barry Slauenwhite is a leading global voice and advocate for the poor. Barry has recently retired from his role as President/CEO and serves the ministry as President Emeritus using his gifts to advocate for children at risk.
As a pastor and ministry leader, Barry strives to promote holistic child development through the local church as one of the most effective kingdom building strategies available to the Christian world. His advocacy for the poor has brought him to more than 60 countries worldwide where he has witnessed extreme poverty firsthand – and had the joy of seeing lives transformed through Compassion’s ministry.
Barry is the author of “Strategic Compassion” and is a sought-after speaker throughout Canada and internationally challenging Christians worldwide to look at poverty from a biblical perspective and evaluate current mission strategies. Barry and his wife, Sharon, live in London Ontario, and have two adult daughters and two grandchildren.
Barry will be speaking on poverty and sharing about Compassion’s ministry. Compassion Canada is focused on releasing children from poverty through the local church. We would encourage you to prayerfully consider over the coming weeks whether God is leading you and your family to sponsor a child.
We are honoured and excited to have Barry Slauenwhite here at Bethel Brandon on March 8, 2020 in the 10:30 am. service.
